How To Solve The Loss Biodiversity and Extinction Plants and Animals?

 


WHAT IS BIODIVERSITY?

 Regarding the loss of biodiversity and extinction of plants and animals,Cary Fowler states:“To many people, ‘biodiversity’ is almost synonymous with the word ‘nature,’ and ‘nature’ brings to mind steamy forests and the big creatures that dwell there. Fair enough. But biodiversity is much more than that, for it encompasses not only the diversity of species, but also the diversity within species.” This shows that preserving biodiversity is very important for us to maintain a stable ecosystem.Simply said, biodiversity refers to the abundance of wildlife and plants found across the world, particularly on our planet Earth. It is extremely important in the world around us since each organism, whether animal or plant, has a certain role to accomplish in the ecological system. So, what is the significance of biodiversity? Biodiversity is crucial since it comprises the elements that make up our world. It is full of microorganisms, animals, and plants, whether we are talking about the earth's Land or the entire hydrosphere. As a result, if the biodiversity of this life, also known as planet earth biodiversity, decreased or deplete, our planet would eventually become extinct. Either the entire ecosystem is destroyed as a result of human involvement such as deforestation, urban growth, and farming or a sufficient number of essential species in an ecosystem perish that the ecosystem collapses on its own.Nowadays, loss of biodiversity includes the extinction of species worldwide, as well as the reduction or loss of local species in certain habitats, resulting in the loss of biological diversity.For example, deforestation in the Amazon rainforest and elsewhere reduces the amount of carbon dioxide emitted from the atmosphere by plants, a natural process that reduces the effects of climate development.There are three causes of loss of biodiversity and extinction of plants and animals. Hence,there are some ways to reduce the loss of biodiversity and the extinction of plants and animals.







GOVERNMENT LEGISLATION

     Forest fires can be solved by government legislation in the conservation of biodiversity.Governments have the authority to regulate what happens to ecosystems inside their borders.  Legislation that preserves natural ecosystems by prohibiting the development, natural resource extraction, or other forms of human exploitation has a significant influence on the preservation of natural biodiversity.In this case, the government can give charity to people who are willing to save the loss of biodiversity. For example, the government can give money RM 1 million to people who responsible to save the biodiversity.As we know there are  one of the top biodiversity organizations which is World Wildlife Fund who support the initiative help to preserve the world’s biodiversity by generating funds and collaborating with other similar groups to provide consistent financial support for global biodiversity.Other than that, there is the  Whitley Fund for Nature(WFN) United Kingdom organization which aims to help the biodiversity.This showed us, biodiversity is  really important to our life because if we not conserve biodiversity it can cause  climate change.Furthermore,the government should enforce the law on irresponsible people.

The Government fined about  RM500 000 thousand to irresponsible people who throw  cigarette butts in the forest and enacted legislation prohibiting  smoking in the forest.According to Dr Lokman Hakim Sulaiman a compound of up to RM5000 can be imposed and a penalty of RM10 000 or imprisonment for a maximum of to years if convicted .In addition, if the government not enforce the law on irresponsible people,they will have no consciousness to save the biodiversity and they will throw cigarette buts in the forest that can cause forest fires. Obviously,  the government should enforce the law on irresponsible people to save our biodiversity from destruction.Without a doubt, government legislation is important to the conservation of biodiversity that will ensure a prosperous life.






EDUCATION


  Moreover,loss of biodiversity and extinction of plant and animals also because of air pollution.The impact of this pollution on the natural world can affect the growth of plants and animals.The loss of biological diversity threatens ecological services.For instance,pollutants such as sulfur can cause excessive acid levels in lakes and rivers, and damage trees and forest soils such as atmospheric nitrogen can reduce the biodiversity of plant communities and endanger fish and other aquatic life. Ozone also damages tree leaves and negatively affects beautiful scenery in protected natural areas. Mercury and other heavy metal compounds released as exhaust from fuel combustion can eventually accumulate in plants and animals, some of which are consumed by humans. By such a thing, another important way to reduce the loss of biodiversity and extinction of plants and animals is that the government should collaborate with various organizations to increase education about biodiversity and the importance of plants and animals to humans in society. This is because society now has less awareness and education about the importance of preserving biodiversity especially. For example, the Ministry of Environment can work with the Ministry of Education to conduct awareness campaigns among students. This can cultivate and increase awareness of the importance of biodiversity among students. If such measures are not taken, future generations especially the youth may not know at all and do not care about the importance of preserving biodiversity.


As a result, they will do things that are harmful such as open burning. Therefore, education on the importance of biodiversity should be increased from an early age so that they better understand later in adulthood. In addition, schools in particular must provide early exposure to students about the disadvantages of plant extinction and animals. An example that can be taken is that ecosystems will be disturbed when the extinction of plants and animals happened. The existence of various types of biodiversity such as animals and plants is very important to maintain ecosystems. Thus, education is very important in educating future generations to work together to preserve biodiversity.Briefly,the government should collaborate with various organizations to improve education about biodiversity in the community is one of the significant ways in efforts to reduce biodiversity loss and extinction of plants and animals.








PURCHASING SUSTAINABLE PRODUCT


   Last but not least, the extinction of the plant can be avoided by choosing environmentally friendly items. Sustainable purchasing is defined as the purchase of items that are manufactured from recycled materials, are ecologically preferred, bio-based, or energy-and water-efficient, use alternative fuels and renewable energy, or provide alternatives to hazardous or toxic substances. Sustainable products benefit the university in a tangible way. They are reusable, energy-efficient (or exceed industry requirements), created with post-consumer materials, have low toxicity, are manufactured with minimum environmental effect, and are distributed in environmentally friendly packaging.


Modernization’s current gives such a negative impact on biodiversity. Dressing in recycled fabrics is one method to make your regular life more eco-friendly. Indeed, as more and more businesses sell recycled plastic clothing, these clothes are becoming increasingly common. But how can a plastic container become a cloth? The trash is first crushed into petals, then combined with plastic bottles. The mixture is then converted into a liquid mass, which is then weaved into yarn. The thread is then turned into material, which will be used to make the collection! This way we can reduce the loss of biodiversity without having to spend more money and at the same time, we can assist the recycling industry.  This is done to save natural resources while decreasing waste that might pollute the environment. Other than that, protect existing natural habitats.When the effects of many small-scale decisions are added up across time and space, or when a site degrades over time due to improper management activities, this incremental loss occurs because natural vegetation cover within cities is already so limited, those places that do exist become even more valuable to the local ecology and human population because of their rarity.


As a result, conserving the city's surviving natural vegetation is a vital first step in reducing the city's extinction debt. The emergence of a specific natural disaster is the most felt consequence by humans as a result of the imbalance of ecosystems in nature. Floods, landslides, and forest fires are just a few of the hazards that might occur. To sum up briefly, the government should emphasize encouraging people to adopt environmentally friendly goods so that biodiversity may be preserved for future generations and they can enjoy the beauty of the environment.   








CONCLUSION


In conclusion, we as  people who  are concerned about biodiversity should find the best solution to protect our biodiversity because biodiversity is important to ensure a balanced ecosystem. Most biodiversity resources are consumed by humans, it is their primary obligation to conserve and safeguard biodiversity in order to protect the planet. The diversity of species, the ecosystem, the environment, and the long-term viability of life on Earth are all essential factors. To prevent unlawful hunting of rare species, strict statutory obligations must be enforced over time. It can be concluded that government legislation, education for communities and purchasing sustainable products are the best way to solve the loss of biodiversity and extinction of plants and animals.Without initiative and collaboration from the government and community, our biodiversity might be destroyed and human society cannot operate without the practical advantages of biodiversity. According to David Suzuki who is well-known as an environmental activist from Canada, he said “ If we pollute the air, water and soil that keep us alive and well, and destroy the biodiversity that allows natural systems to function, no amount of money will save us”. This shows that it is important to protect our biodiversity.Biodiversity is our life and we must take action and fight against climate change.We recommend that, the community must use public transportation to reduce air pollution to build a better world.Besides, the community should be volunteering in cooperation to preserve biodiversity.Other than that,we also hope the community can practice the using of reusable coffee cups and lids. Lastly, together we build a better world in the future.
